| The Ruff and Reddy Show was the very first cartoon created by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera for their new company after leaving Tom & Jerry behind at MGM. Not quite the first made-for-TV network cartoon (that honor goes to Terrytoons' short-lived 1956 primetime series, CBS Cartoon Theatre hosted by Dick Van Dyke), Ruff And Reddy was very similar in format to Jay Ward’s Crusader Rabbit, which was the first made-for-TV syndicated cartoon.
