The Singles Ward is a 2002 comedy film. Like the movie that followed it, The R.M.
, The Singles Ward is very LDS centric and is meant to appeal to LDS audiences. Non-LDS viewers probably would not understand the references to and parodies of the Mormon—and Utah—sub-culture. The Singles Ward is one of the new line of LDS comedy films by Kurt Hale and John E. Moyer.

Plot

After faithfully serving a fulltime mission, Jonathan Jordan finds himself divorced and is once again a member of the single LDS adult world—a world who's ultimate goal is Eternal Marriage. Disenchanted with the Mormon way of life after his recent divorce, Jordan stops going to church. He even creates a stand up routine lampooning the Mormon way of life. His resistance to the church continues until he falls for Cammie Giles, a member of the local singles ward. Suddenly, Jordan finds going to church more appealing. But is he attending church again just to impress her?
