The Sons of the Desert is a Laurel and Hardy appreciation group started in the 1960's. There are now chapters all over the world. The organization was named after the comedy film Sons of the Desert. Each group is known as a tent and is usually named after one of the comedy teams movie titles.

For example the main tent in Massachusetts is called "The Boston Brats" (Brats
being a name of one of Laurel and Hardy's films). Another example is the Scottish tent which is called "Bonnie Scotland" after the film of the same name.
