	Movies - The Sword in the Stone

The Sword in the Stone is the eighteenth animated feature in the Disney animated features canon. It was produced by Walt Disney, and originally released to theaters on December 25, 1963 by Buena Vista Distribution. It is loosely based on the novel The Sword in the Stone
by T.H. White. Based on Merlin saying that the London times won't come out for another 1200 years, it is set around 600AD.

The only time she appeared was when Merlin was teaching Arthur(Wart) about love, by turning him into a squirrel. As Merlin explains what gravity is to Wart, he comes across the friendly squirrel, but wouldn't let him pass. Thinking it wants him to back away, he and Merlin do so. She starts to follow him then sniffs him in the face, and pushes her back by the nose. Merlin explains that she is a girl squirrel, and a red head, he winks at them, thinking like they're made for each other. Believing Wart is playing with her, the squirrel puts her hands on his nose, and Wart instantly pushes her arms out of the way. Confused for a split second, she grabs his arms and places his hands on her nose. She laughs and runs back, climbing up and down on one the branches, she runs back trying to put his hands on her nose again. Wart claims she acts funny, Merlin states it's because she likes him. He asks why and she instantly jumps on him, then he runs away to hide behind Merlin. As Merlin explains how it is nature, instantly the two love birds (squirrels, mind you) start running around, Wart running from the girl squirrel. Merlin jumps out of the way, saying he should be left out, as the girl squirrel jumps on a twig, then on Wart. Wart wants no part of it either, tries to leave, but she grabs his tail, and wraps him up with hers. Asking Merlin for help, Wart gets no help from him, Merlin claims magic can't solve love problems. Wart tries to explain to the girl he is not a squirrel, he is a human boy, she apparently can't understand him, that's when she grabs his head, and rapidly kisses him on the lips three times. Frustrated, he rubs his lips with his arms, then covers her head with her tail, and pushes her, then runs to Merlin. This apparently makes the squirrel more attracted to him, as she gives an "in love" sort of sound. Wart wants to know how to get rid of her, and she instantly does the same thing he did to her to get her to leave him alone. After falling, Wart has the squirrel chattering in his face. Merlin tells him he's stuck, because when a girl squirrel chooses her mate, it's for life. Wart scratches his head in thought, then the squirrel girl scratches it for him, harder. He pushes her away, and tells Merlin that he won't be a squirrel tomorrow. She then cuddles nest to him, he pushes her back, but she then cuddles up to his chest and wraps herself with his arms. Merlin says that she doesn't know that, only the Wart is a him, and she's a her. She puts Wart's hands on her nose again, laughs and runs back. Wart hides under Merlin's tail. Merlin, who likes the idea of Wart having his first romantic experience and reveals to her where he's hiding. As Merlin starts singing a song about how she/he has got to be Wart, she pulls Wart out by the tail, grabs his head and rubs his cheek with hers. He pushes her back, and she quickly kisses him on the lips again, twice. During the song, Wart tries to escape her, but fails. First she stops him from leaving, then hugs him, then she grabs his tail, then he runs but she's right in front of him. As the two are running on a branch, he ends up on the end, he tells her to go away, but she jumps off to hug him, they keep up until Wart jumps too far, landing on, and angering Archimedes. This then angers a mother woodpecker. He hides in a tree hole, where she is already hiding, he runs with her riding by clinging on to his tail, and angering the two birds again. As Merlin watches, he becomes a prey of love to and older, fatter squirrel, who grabs his tail, tickles him, hugs him hard, then gives him a passionate mouth-to-mouth kiss, which causes Merlin trouble he can't get rid of. Wart tells him that he's tired of being a squirrel, and it's nothing but trouble, but Merlin has his own problems, and accidently lets Wart fall onto a breaking branch. Seeing he's about to fall where the movie's weak, yet funny, wolf was waiting for a meal, the squirrel girl runs to save him, but he still falls down, with his tail stuck in the wood, with the wolf in front of him. Angered with the wolf, the squirrel runs down and bites his leg, then leads him to a cliff, where he falls, and gets stuck in a trunk in the river. She growls at him, then looks towards Wart, and smiles. She runs towards him, then jumps, freeing his tail, but not him. She is all over him, literally, holding him steady and rubbing their faces together. Merlin manages to get away from the older squirrel, and turns back into a human, which causes the squirrel to scream in horror, and angers him, giving him the "cold shoulder." After he barks at her to leave, he finds the two young squirrel couple, and decides to turn Wart back to normal. This both surprises and breaks the heart of the squirrel. She runs away, watching him away, crying. Merlin tells how that love business is a powerful thing. Wart asks if it's greater than gravity, and Merlin believes it's the greatest force on Earth. The Little Girl Squirrel watches as they leave, with her broken heart. It is uncertained what happened to her, it is least likely she moved on, and more likely she continued to live in the forest.
