Movies - The Voyager

' 'The Voyager' ' (German title:Homo Faber) is an English language motion picture made in 1991. The director is Volker Schlöndorff. It tells the fictional story of UN engineer Walter Faber, played by Sam Shepard
- a man portrayed as devoted to saving the world through development of massive dams.

Set in 1960, the film begins with Faber surviving a plane crash, graphically shown, much like in the American television series Lost.

Through a series of coindences, Faber then meets a young woman, played by Julie Delpy
, that strongly reminds him of his former wife. A handsome film, it lovingly illustrates their travels across Europe together. While well regarded by critics and telling a coherent and unusual story, 'The Voyager' is not currently available, perhaps due to it's explosive theme - revealed in the ironic twist ending.
