| The Warriors of Kyoshi is the fourth episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender's first season. After one of Aang's little detours, the group inadvertently heads toward the island of Kyoshi. But soon, they learn the townspeople don’t trust foreigners very much when they get attacked; however, when Aang proves to them that he is the Avatar, they are treated as guests of honor. Katara wants to get some supplies and leave as soon as possible, while Aang is enjoying his time as a celebrity, but little do they know that the Fire Nation has been following them. Also, Sokka meets and trains with a female warrior named Suki. Episode synopsisThe gang arrives at Kyoshi Island where they relax on its beach. Aang rides the giant elephant koi fish and is almost killed by a creature called the Unagi. But after arriving back to shore, they are all captured by the warrior women of Kyoshi and their leader Suki. Aang sets the group free and shows off that he is the Avatar to the town. They learn that this island was the birthplace of Avatar Kyoshi, a woman who was born four hundred years ago as an Earthbender. The group is treated like celebrities and all of it begins to go to Aang's head. Katara secretly grows jealous of all the girls following Aang. Sokka is upset because a bunch of girls captured him and though he tries to show off to them, he is humiliated by their superior skills. Sokka then asks for Suki's guidance and learns the ways of the Kyoshi warriors. As a climatic stunt, Aang goes to the beach to ride the Unagi where he almost drowns. Luckily, Katara saves Aang, but now the Fire Nation is attacking Kyoshi. The warriors hold off the Firebenders while Aang and his friends escape. Aang makes a rash decision and jumps on the Unagi. The Unagi sprays water over the village of Kyoshi, dousing the burning buildings.CastThis list does not include main characters. ;Koko: Jillian Henry ;Suki: Jennie Kwan[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for The Warriors of Kyoshi ] Some related entries: The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle | Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison | Joan Micklin Silver | Wolves Cry Under the Moon | Little Secrets | Jimmy Smallhorne | Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events | Any Given Sunday | Film noir | Gay Purr-ee | Romance on Lushan Mountain This page is based on the copyrighted Wikipedia article The Warriors of Kyoshi; it is used under the GNU Free Documentation License.
