Movies - The World's Strongest

is the second movie in the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It was originally released in Japan on March 10th, 1990, between episodes 39 & 40. FUNimation's title is The World's Strongest & Bridge Entertainment's title is The Strongest Guy in the World.

Plot outline

Summoning Shenlong, Dr. Kochin frees his mentor, Dr. Uirō (FUNimation's Dub: Wheelo), who has been entombed within ice for 50 years. Wanting to have the strongest body on Earth, Uirō goes after Muten Rōshi thinking that he's still the strongest. However, upon learning that Son Gokū is now the strongest, Uirō has a new target. He nearly suceeds in defeating Gokū but Gokū fights back with his Kaiō-ken technique.

Out of Continuity

This movie is out of order with the time line of the anime series. By the time Gokū learned kaiō-ken, he was battling Vegeta. And if this movie was after the battle with Vegeta, then Gokū would have still been in a hospital and Piccolo would be dead.
