| There Will Be Blood is a film adaptation of Upton Sinclair's novel Oil! announced for release in 2006, starring Daniel Day-Lewis. It is being screenwritten, produced, and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Shooting will begin mid-May in New Mexico and Texas. It has been described by the studio as "a story about family, greed, religion, and oil, centered around a turn-of-the-century Texas prospector (Daniel Day-Lewis) in the early days of the business."
