Triple Changers are Transformers that can transform into two different vehicles and a robot. According to the Dreamwave comic, The Triple Changers were the result of experiments by Shockwave. Failed attempts resulted in the Duocons. The first successful Triple Changer was Springer, followed by Blitzwing. Later, he was joined by Astrotrain, Broadside, Sandstorm and Octane. Although there are many examples of other Transfomers with 3 modes, the group mentioned above are the only ones that officially possess the official designation. Triple Changers can change between their multiple alternate modes twice as fast as most Transformers.

The pages from Dreamwave Comics "More Than Meets The Eye" series additionally described the Headmaster Horricons Apeface and Snapdragon as Triplechangers, as well as the character of Doubledealer as one. In 2005 a repaint of Blitzwing called Overcharge was released, so he is probably another Triplechanger. The Japanese character of Doubleclouder is a repaint of Doubledealer.

Octane - tractor tanker, Boeing 757 (possibly 767, depending on date of manufacture) jumbo jet
Broadside - aircraft carrier, jet fighter
Overcharge - Mitsubishi main battle tank, (Soviet) MiG-25 "Foxbat" jet fighter
Sandstorm
- dune buggy, transport helicopter
Snapdragon - Cyberonian jet, transmetal dinosaur.
Springer - futuristic car, jet helicopter
Scattershot - leader of the Technobots spaceship, space cannon.
