Twitches is a 2005 TV movie produced for the Disney Channel, and is based on the first book in the popular T*Witches series published by Scholastic Press. Produced by Broomsticks Productions Limited, the film stars Tia and Tamera Mowry from Sister, Sister fame as, respectively, Alex Fielding and Camryn Barnes. Shot in Oakville, Ontario. (the location of The Santa Clause
), Twitches was directed by Stuart Gillard and written by Dan Berendsen, both who have done previous work for Disney. The film had very few similarites to the books

The casting of the Mowry sisters may cause some uproar among some fans, as the sisters were described as being of "pale skin and gray eyes." Also, Ileana and Karsh are each a guardian of one twin. In the book, Ileana is the guardian of both the twins, and Karsh is Ileana's guardian, and the twins, when they meet, are fourteen, not 21 as in the adaptation. They are also described as not being from Earth but Coventry Island, a magical realm in another dimension." In the book, Coventry Island is a small island on a lake, in the United States Of America.
