Movies - Viva Max!

A 1969 movie about a platoon of Mexican soldiers under the command of General Maximilian (Peter Ustinov) marching up Texas highways and San Antonio freeways, reluctantly attempting to retake The Alamo in modern day times. Of course this leads to retaliation by U. S. military forces, complete with helicopter support.

The filming of this movie was controversial in that certain historical groups objected to the filming of the Alamo to the point of staging protests at filming locations. This caused some of the scenes to be filmed at replicas in studios in Europe instead of on location.
