| Wondrous Oblivion is a film directed and written by Paul Morrison. Several themes run through the film, though the main storyline is about the friendship between a boy, David Wiseman (Sam Smith) who is the son of European Jewish immigrants. His next door neighbours, father and daughter Dennis (Delroy Lindo) and Judy (Leonie Elliott) are West Indian immigrants. The cement which binds their friendship is cricket - but the ride is not always smooth. Tensions between the families in the streets and a brief relationship between Ruth Wiseman (Emily Woof) and Dennis threaten to break apart the neighbourhood. The film is set in London in 1960 and deals with difficult social themes such as racism.
