You're Darn Tootin' is a 1928 silent Laurel & Hardy short subject, produced by Hal Roach and released in 1928 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. In the short, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy play band musicians who lose their jobs and home and become street musicians.

Content

The movie is notable for the final sequence, where Laurel and Hardy's private argument of shin-kicking and pants-ripping eventually involves the whole neighborhood. In the end all persons involved (in font of the ABC Restaurant), are without pants and kicking each others leg.

Production

The short was directed by fellow film comedian Edgar Kennedy, here billed as "E.Livingston Kennedy". The scene was featured in several silent film compilations of the 1960s produced by Robert Youngson.
