Zak Adama is a character on the science-fiction series Battlestar Galactica (original series).

The character's first name on the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica (2004 television series) is spelled Zak. The original series analogue was spelt Zac.

He was the younger son of Commander Adama and brother of Lee Adama. Being the son of a colonial officer, he also chose to join the Colonial Fleet. His flight instructor was Kara Thrace, who was also his fiancee. He died on his first solo flight after finishing flight school. His brother Lee blamed their father for his death.

It's revealed that Zak only passed flight school because Kara couldn't let herself fail him, as he had no feel for flying. This relieves some of the burden of guilt from the Commander in the eyes of Lee.
