Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, is a 1999 made-for-television movie by the Disney Channel. It was based on the book of the same name written by Roger Bollen and Marilyn Sadler, and directed by Kenneth Johnson.

Plot

Zenon Kar is a thirteen-year-old girl filled with anger and experiencing troubles, some of which have been caused by herself. She was born in 2036 and the story takes place in 2049. Zenon lives in a space station, alongside her family and her best friend. Zenon's behaviour enrages her station's commander, and he sends her to live somewhere out of the station.

Zenon lands on Earth, where she is met by her aunt. She finds some of Earth's teenagers to be rude, because they ridicule her clothes, not realizing that she is from space. Once she tries to tell them she is from space, many of her peers and school mates think she is crazy. Zenon also finds things on Earth to be outdated, and she particularly dislikes the fashions that Earth teenagers wear. However, she finds love with a boy who shows interest in her, and they start to date.

Zenon believes she is being watched on Earth by agents of her commander from the space station, and, with the help of a computer whiz friend of hers, she learns the commander is corrupt. She sends the information back to her station through a satellite device used to communicate with family and friends back home, and the commander was removed from his position. Zenon then returned to her space station, together with a British boy band that she liked, and she organizes a concert there. Her aunt flies over to the station with her as well, and falls in love with the station's new commander.
