was born in Cebu, South of the Philippines to Manuel Kabahar Cabase of San Nicolas and Priscilla Vale Campogan of Tuburan Cebu. Amapola is a singer, musician, songwriter, and actor, who achieved recognition for her television program which still holds the record for the longest running magazine-variety show produced locally in the Bay Area. Directed by Hollywood Producer/Director Dirk Dirksen, "Amapola Presents Show" was aired on Channel 20, KEMO-TV from 1977 to 1983 and syndicated during the shows 4th and 5th seasons. She is of Cebuano descent and currently married to Stephen Charles Woodward, a British Executive for Ocean Images, Ltd of England. She was previously married to Banker Nicolas Aiello of San Francisco.

Early Years

Amapola Cabase was educated in several different schools: , , , andUniversity of San Carlos. She received her first key to Cebu City at 7 years old for her work in conducting Toy Orchestras in several elementary schools in Cebu. This concept started in Amapola's school where the notable Mrs. Coronada Pingol noted the child's retention of more than ten symphonies in the Toy Orchestra repertoire. The largest Toy Orchestra organized by Pingol and conducted by Amapola was composed of 100 schoolchildren from Cebu Normal School. Cebu City Mayor Osmena presented Amapola with the key to the city. The affair was hosted by Ms Genie Peralta and broadcast on DYRC-Radio, then later replayed all over the Visayan Islands.

Career

Amapola established herself as aN entertainment icon in her country, receiving recognition for her excellence as a television host, recording artist, as a motion picture actress (playing feature and lead roles plus others as a child star, & singing the musical scores for many others), as an instrumentalist (playing 8 musical instruments & excelling as a classic pianist), & as a TV & Radio personality - hosting "Amapola Presents" on KEMO-TV 20 in San Francisco, California.

Trivia

"Amapola Presents Show" still holds the record as the longest running Local Magazine Variety Show outside of Hollywood. Directed by Dirk Dirksen and syndicated in the West Coast, it was slotted at prime time on Saturday evenings & replayed on Sunday afternoons for seven straight years in the San Francisco Bay Area then syndicated and replayed in among others: Sacramento, Salinas and San Diego.

Amapola appeared in the Venetian Room of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco headlining an SRO concert fund-raiser for then California Governor Jerry Brown and merited a five minute ovation and a Plaque of Honor from Governor Gerry Brown and Browns for Brown organization.
