| Andrey Boreyko is the principal conductor of the Berner Symphonie-Orchester (Berne Symphony Orchestra), beginning in the 2005/6 season, and Music Director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Born in St. Petersberg, the young Russian has also conducted the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra/DR and the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino). He succeeded fellow Russian conductor, Dmitri Kitaenko.
