| Andy Newmark is an American musician, best known as the drummer for influential funk band Sly & the Family Stone from 1973 to 1975. The album Fresh is considered to be one of the great funk drumming performances. Newmark has performed and recorded with many top musical artists since the 1970s, including John Lennon, Carly Simon, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, George Harrison, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, and George Benson.
