| Bernhard Henrik Crusell (1775 -1838) was a Finnish-born composer and clarinet player, who moved to Sweden in his late teens. He was born into an impoverished family of bookbinders and received his earliest musical education at the age of 8 from a member of the Nylan regimental band. Crusell moved to Stockholm in 1791. THere he played for 40 years as principal clarinet in the Royal Court Orchestra.
