||
| Brian Dewan is one of New York City's foremost musical inventors and innovators. He has created scores of instruments for homemade music, including the bass zither, and is a frequent collaborator with They Might Be Giants, the Blue Man Group, Sesame Street, Flaming Fire, Jed Davis and Loser's Lounge. He has also created album art for bands like David Byrne and Neutral Milk Hotel. Dewan's newest invention with his cousin Leon Dewan is the Dewanatron, a collection of uncanny synths that are operated with devices like manual telephone dials, create sounds evocative of the The Silver Apples or Raymond Scott. Dewan is a member of the Raymond Scott Orchestrette, a group dedicated to reinterpreting Scott's compositions, and appeared on their 2002 album Pushbutton Parfait.
