| Byron Fulcher is Principal Trombone with the Philharmonia Orchestra, appointed in 2001. In addition he is Professor of Trombone at the Royal College of Music. Fulcher was featured as soloist in the 2004 Benjamin Zander / Philharmonia recording of Mahler's Third Symphony (although the CD sleeve calls him "Brian" Fulcher). Byron grew up in Cornwall, started playing trombone aged 9 and went on to study with Denis Wick and Eric Crees at the Guildhall. In 1991 Byron made it to the final of the Shell LSO Scholarship where he played a concerto in the Barbican Centre with the London Symphony Orchestra.
