Blackman has recorded several straight-ahead jazz albums under her own name, and has performed with acclaimed jazz and rock artists, including Pharoah Sanders, Ron Carter, Buckethead, Bill Laswell and Joe Henderson. Tony Williams is her main drumming influence.
