| DJ Whoo Kid (born Yves Mondesire in West Orange, New Jersey) is a mix DJ, who self styles himself as "The Haitian Barry White". Based in Queens, he rose to fame after a long stint as an underground mixtape DJ in 2002 after 50 Cent and G-Unit rose to fame, giving him a now syndicated radio show on New York’s Hot 97 as well as Sirius Satellite Radio. As G-Unit's official DJ, he always has the first scoop on new G-Unit tracks because he is the cousin of 50 Cent's manager. Yves Mondesire got the name "Whoo Kid" from a humorous incident during childhood. After he would leave the bathroom his father would exclaim "Whoo Kid" because of the strong smell he would leave behind. Whoo Kid has certainly diversified his interests: the Queens-raised son of Haitian parents began to DJ at 16; he now performs on global tours with 50 Cent and G-Unit and as an artist in his own right. On January 15, 2004 DJ Whoo Kid won the award for Best Mixtape DJ at Justo Faison's Eighth Annual Mixtape Awards. His syndicated show appears on New York's Hot 97 as well as Sirius Satellite Radio. He has appeared on magazines such as XXL (magazine), Tablist Magazine, Mixtape Magazine, etc. He has also released DVDs and has a clothing line in Japan. Whoo Kid's mixtape musical selection tends to lean towards aggressive, New-York flavored gangster rap, and his show features many new and unheard tunes, often exclusives from the G-Unit/Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment camp. His most recent mixtape was part 15 of his popular G-Unit Radio mixtape series, starred by all of G-Unit as well as Lil Scrappy, G-Unit's newest "half-member" (BME Recordings recently agreed to a deal with G-Unit where both will cross-promote selected BME and G-Unit artists, with the first being Lil Scrappy). Whoo Kid will soon be releasing ring tones.
