Musicians - Dan Hipgrave

Dan Hipgrave was born Daniel Hipgrave, on August 5, 1975, in Brighton, England. He was one of the guitarists with Toploader, a briefly popular British indie rock band.

Hipgrave left Sussex University in 1996, where he was studying psychiatric nursing, to devote his full-time energies towards his band. In 1998 they signed a six album deal with Sony Records.

Despite a million selling debut album, sales fell rapidly afterwards, and Toploader's second Long Player met with a mixed reception. The label soon dropped the band from its roster, and the group disbanded thereafter.

He married TV presenter Gail Porter in 2000, though the couple separated in 2004. In more recent times Hipgrave has turned his attention towards TV and Radio work, making a number of appearances in both media.

On March 16 2006, he made an appearence on the hit BBC television show Through the Keyhole.
