Dave Hamelin is the vocalist/guitarist for Canadian rock band The Stills. As their former drummer, Dave made the move up from behind the kit, replacing guitarist Greg Paquet after he left the band in 2005 citing creative differences. Dave is one of the band's principal songwriters and lyricists. He is a former member of the "adorable ska boy band," The Undercovers.

In an interview conducted with Nardwuar the Human Serviette in 2004, Dave threatens fellow Montreal musician Nicholas "Niel" Diamonds formerly of The Unicorns and now of Islands (band): "Niel Diamond, I'm looking for you. I'm gonna fucking kick your ass." Diamonds and The Unicorns/Islands' Jamie Thompson have been very vocal about their distate for The Stills and their ska roots.
