| David Robertson is an American conductor and currently serves as Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and as Principal Guest Conductor of London’s BBC Symphony Orchestra. He was born in Santa Monica, California and received his musical education at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied French horn and composition before changing to orchestral conducting. Prior to his present appointments, Robertson served as resident conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, as Music Director of Pierre Boulez's Ensemble Intercontemporain in Paris, and as Music Director of the Orchestre National de Lyon and Artistic Director of Lyon's Auditorium.
