| Donald Martino (May 16, 1931–December 8, 2005) was a Pulitzer Prize winning American composer. Known for his atonal works, including Pianississimo, a piano solo which is considered by some experts to be the most difficult piece of piano music ever written, Martino, who taught at Yale University, New England Conservatory, Brandeis University and Harvard University, won the Pulitzer Prize for music in 1974.
