Musicians - Dream

Dream (sometimes referred to as Dream (When You're Feeling Blue)) is a jazz and pop standard written by Johnny Mercer
in 1944 and performed by many artists. The most popular versions of the songs include those by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Roy Orbison
.

Mercer wrote the song for the 1945 MGM film Her Highness and the Bellboy, and the song became a hit for The Pied Pipers. After its initial success, the song fell into obscurity until Ella Fitzgerald scored a hit with the song in 1952. Roy Orbison
recorded a cover of the song on his popular and critically acclaimed 1963 album, In Dreams. More recently, Orbison's version was resurrected for the soundtrack to the 1998 film You've Got Mail.

Other notable versions include a cover by Frank Sinatra in 1960 and Ringo Starr's version in 1970.
