Edward Heyman, born in New York City on March 14, 1907 was an American musician and lyricist. Heyman studied at the University of Michigan where he had an early start on his career writing college musicals.

After graduating from college Heyman moved back to New York City where he started working with a number of experienced musicians like Victor Young, Dana Suesse, Morton Gould, Nacio Herb Brown, Johnny Green and Rudolf Friml.

From 1939 to 1954, Heyman contributed songs to film scores including That Girl From Paris, Curly Top, Kissing Bandit, Delightfully Dangerous and Northwest Outpost.

Arguably Heyman's biggest hit is his composition "Body and Soul" recorded in 1939 by Coleman Hawkins (and many others). Heyman also wrote "Out of Nowhere"; "B;ame It On My Youth"; "For Sentimental Reasons"; "I Cover The Waterfront"; "Love Letters"; "B;ue Star" (Theme from the TV Series 'Medic'); "When I Fall In Love"; "The Wonder of You"; "You Oughta Be In Pictures"; and "You're Mine, You".
