Ellen Espenschied Dickinson is an American musician, conductor, and arranger, born 1975 in Freeburg, Illinois.

Her instruments are piano, organ, and carillon.

She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut) in 1997 and a Master of Music degree in organ performance from the Yale School of Music in 1999.

Church music positions

She served as organist and director of music at several churches, including:

Saint John's United Church of Christ in Smithton, Illinois
Shelton First United Methodist Church in Shelton, Connecticut
Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford, Connecticut
Simsbury United Methodist Church in Simsbury, Connecticut
Norfield Congregational Church in Weston, Connecticut.

Choral conducting positions

While an undergraduate she sang in the Yale Freshman Chorus and the Yale Glee Club and served as assistant student conductor under director David Connell.

In 2000 she was appointed director of the Yale Freshman Chorus, feeder group of the Yale Glee Club. She conducted the group for three seasons, through 2003.

She conducted the Yale Summer Chorus for four seasons between 1998 and 2004.

She served as rehearsal conductor and accompanist for the Yale Alumni Chorus, a chorus made up of former members of the Yale Glee Club, for its tour of Russia and England in 2001.

She founded the Weston Summer Chorus, Weston, Connecticut, in 2003 and conducts its annual concerts.

Carillon positions

She joined the Yale University Guild of Carillonneurs in 1994 and was a student member for five years. Since that time she has served the Guild as an alumni advisor; she currently serves as carillon consultant to the university administration.

She serves on the board of directors of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America and sits on the Guild's examination committee. She is editor of the Guild's annual bulletin.

She has played concerts on over fifty carillons in the United States, the Netherlands, and Belgium. She has arranged several pieces for carillon.

Teaching positions

She teaches piano and organ lessons in Stamford, Greenwich, and Weston, Connecticut.
She teaches carillon lessons to the members of the Yale Guild of Carillonneurs
She taught piano at the Tabor Community Arts Center in Branford, Connecticut
She taught general music at Museum Lab Magnet School and at High School in the Community, both in New Haven, Connecticut
She served as a lecturer at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut and conducted the university chorus.
