| Frederik Magle (born April 17, 1977) is a Danish composer and concert organist. He attended The Royal Conservatory of Music and studied composition and organ, but can be considered mostly self-taught in regard to composition. He is mainly known for his works for the Danish Royal Family, which include music composed for the christening of Prince Nikolai in 1999, and a symphonic poem Cantabile, based on texts by Prince Henrik of Denmark (the Prince Consort) which was first performed in 2004 by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Frederik Magle's musical style can be characterized as being generally melodic while maintaining some elements of atonality.
