| Hans Rosbaud (born July 22, 1895 in Graz, died Dec 29, 1962 in Lugano), was an Austrian conductor, particularly associated with the music of the twentieth century. During the 1920s and 30s, he presented premieres of works by Schoenberg and Bartok while conducting in Frankfurt. During the Nazi era his freedom to present new music was restricted. After the World War II he became music director of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra before becoming director of the South West German Radio Orchestra in Baden-Baden in 1948, where he remained for the rest of his life.
