| Hermann Ludwig Blankenburg (14 November 1876 - 15 May 1956) was a German composer of military marches with at least 300 marches published and probably many more lost or destroyed. Raised on a farm in Thamsbrücke, Blankenburg taught himself to play various instruments and began to conduct his school orchestra at the age of ten. He served in the military, played in community bands, and worked as a bricklayer for a short time. His personal life was full of turmoil; once he was arrested for "deserting his family". His marches are all in the characteristic German style and he was fond of writing soaring euphonium countermelodies. He died in Wesel in 1956. His marches include:
