Ian grew up in Wythenshawe and started playing records at the Sharston Youth club. He soon became a sort of mobile disco legend and made the move into hospital radio at Wythenshawe's FAB Radio.

He then moved into radio working for several stations before moving back to one of Magic's sister stations Rock FM in Preston where he stayed for a decade working the afternoon shift. He was also the host of Rock FM's Saturday night dance show, which gained large respect in Lancashire and around the North West of England as one of the best dance shows on radio

He’s now back home in Manchester on Magic 1152.

Ian currently resides with his wife and two children in Stockport.
