| Jake Heggie (born in Florida in 1961) is an American composer and pianist. Heggie has written more than 200 songs and concert works. In 1998 he was appointed composer in residence to the San Francisco Opera, where his opera Dead Man Walking was first performed in 2000. His second opera, The End of the Affair, was permiered in 2004 at Houston Grand Opera.
