| Jay Lane, born 5 December 1964, is an American drummer who currently plays and sings in Ratdog, ex-Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir's solo project. He was an original member of Primus, along with Les Claypool, and Todd Huth, and appears on the album, Riddles Are Abound Tonight as a member of Sausage, the reunion of the original Primus lineup. Lane has also been a member of the jazz band Charlie Hunter Trio, appearing on the self-titled album, which was released on Les Claypool's Prawn Song record label, and on Bing, Bing, Bing!, which was released on Blue Note. Recently, Jay has been added to Les Claypool's touring band, Les Claypool and his Fancy Band. Other members include percussionist Mike Dillon, saxophonist Skerik, and instrumentalist Gabby La La.
