Jill Sobule (born January 1961) is an American singer-songwriter best known for her first hit, "I Kissed a Girl", and the Clueless soundtrack hit "Supermodel". She was born in Denver and debuted in 1990, working with Todd Rundgren
. Her breakthrough didn't come until 1995, with the release of "I Kissed a Girl". Its follow-up album, Happy Town, was a critical success but commercial failure. She then began working with Lloyd Cole and signed a new contract in 2000 with Beyond, releasing Pink Pearl that year.
