| John Greaves (born 23 February 1950) is a British bass guitarist and music composer, best known as a member of Henry Cow (1969-1976) and his collaborative albums Kew.Rhône (1977) and Smell of a Friend (as The Lodge) with Peter Blegvad. He was also a member of National Health (1978-1981) and has recorded several solo albums, including Accident (1982), Parrot Fashions (1984), La Petite Bouteille de Linge and The Caretaker. He obtained an English literature degree at Cambridge University in 1971.
