Musicians - Johnny Crass


Johnny Crass is a song parodist best known for the songs "Internet Sandman" and "Bomb Osama." Crass has appeared on the Doctor Demento radio show, and is sometimes credited as "The Redneck Jihad." Crass also stars as a mocumentary filmmaker in the independent movie Schtick Men.

Songs

Several of his early songs were collected on the CD Corn on the Macabre.

Bomb Osama: Parody of Los del Río's "Macarena," this is an ultra-hawkish response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the U.S. Invasion of Afghanistan. One version atrributed this song to "a band called The Redneck Jihad." The song's pronunciation of "Osama bin Laden" is inconsistent, variously rhyming the name with "rotten," "hate him" and "can't stand him."

Ball Star: Parody of Smash Mouth's "All Star," about the O. J. Simpson murder trial.

Goodbye Muddah: Parody of the camp song "Good-bye Mother" about the Columbine High School Massacre.

Robert Downey: about Robert Downey Jr's Drug Addiction.

Cobain: about Kurt Cobain
's suicide.

Internet Sandman (Metallica vs. Napster): Parody of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" about the Napster controversy.

Jesse Jackson's Girl: Parody of Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl" about Jesse Jackson's alleged illegitimate daughter.

Doin' the Peter Polka: Parody of Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca," about Martin's sexual orientation.

Kid Porn Vendor: (2003) "Hidden Track" about the Pete Townsend child pornography allegations.

Being a Jedi: (2005) Parody of Bowling for Soup's "1985", about Star Wars (especially Revenge of the Sith). Features the death of Jar Jar Binks.

Chili Finger: (2005) Parody of The Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace", about the Wendy's .

Put the Needle In Coach: (2005) Parody of "Centerfield," about the Major League Baseball steroid scandal.
