| Kirill Petrovich Kondrashin (March 6, 1914 – March 7, 1981) was a conductor. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory and conducted at the Maliy Theatre in Leningrad from 1936 to 1943 and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow from 1943. He was artistic director of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra from 1960 to 1975 before leaving the Soviet Union and taking the post of principal conductor of Amsterdam's Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1979. He was a close associate of Dmitri Shostakovich and premiered his Fourth and Thirteenth symphonies as well as other orchestral works. .
