Musicians - Lindy Layton

Lindy Layton (born on 7 December, 1970) was a founding member of, and vocalist for, Beats International.

After the disbandment of Beats International Layton went on to release other work as Hardknox with fellow DJ Steve P in 1996. They were signed to the Skint Records the same year and released their debut single "Coz I Can," which was given "Single of the Week" honors by NME. Similarily, the group's second effort, the Psychopath EP, received the same recognition. After various performing remixes for artists such as Orgy, Crystal Method, and Faith No More and appearing on a various compliations and mixes, a self-titled entitled LP was finally released in 1999 by Jive Electro.

Her voice is very similar to Jennifer Lopez. It is believed she at one stage dated Norman Cooke and was the inspiration for the first track he recorded under that name, Song for Lindy.
