Martin Beaver is a Canadian violinist.

He joined the Tokyo String Quartet as first violinist in 2002.

Awards

  • Canada Council's Virginia P. Moore Award for most promising young Canadian classical artist in 1993
  • Silver Medal, Queen Elizabeth Competition in Belgium
  • top prizes at the 1990 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and the 1991 Montreal International Music Competition

Teaching

Beaver teaches violin at New York University and is Artist in Residence at the Yale Graduate School of Music. He previously taught at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of British Columbia and the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

Recordings

Beaver has recorded for the Rene Gailly, Naim Audio, NAXOS and both of CBC’s Record labels.
