Matthew Knowles is an African-American record executive and manager. The father and manager of R&B star Beyoncé Knowles and her sister Solange Knowles, husband of Tina Knowles and the legal guardian of Kelly Rowland mistakely being called Kelly's uncle, Knowles is also the manager of superstar female group Destiny's Child. Before they became Destiny's Child their group name was Girl Tyme and when they lost on Star Search, he gave up this 6 figure salary at Xerox, in order to manage the group full-time realizing their great potential as an entertainers. Knowles has remained the manager of Destiny's Child and the individual members of the group. His record label, Sanctuary Urban Records Group, is currently the home of artists such as Jon B., De La Soul, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang, and Glenn Lewis. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
