| Mick Pointer (born on 22 July, 1956) was the original drummer and founding member of the progressive rock band Marillion. He was apparently fired by the rest of the band after 1983's first studio album Script for a Jester's Tear, and, after trying out several other drummers, eventually replaced with Ian Mosley. According to Fish, 1984's song "Assassing" from the Fugazi album deals at least in part with the sacking of band members in the early years of Marillion. Pointer later formed the band Arena with Clive Nolan, after a long break from the music business.
