| "Move It On Over" is a song written and recorded by the American country music singer-songwriter Hank Williams in 1947. Considered influential to later rock-and-roll, "Move It On Over" was Williams' first major country hit, reaching #4 on the Billboard Country Singles chart. The song's lightweight subject matter and composition resembles that of "Rock Around the Clock," released five years later. The song follows a man who is forced to sleep in the doghouse after coming home late at night and not being allowed into his house by his wife. In the decades since its release, the song has been covered a number of times by artists such as Ray Charles, Bill Haley, Del Shannon, George Thorogood, and Williams' son Hank Williams Jr. Chart performanceHank Williams version[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Move It On Over ] Some related entries: Miklós Rózsa | Petar Krstic | Barney Childs | Datuk Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad | Ilse Huizinga | Susana Baca | Johnny Sandon | June Carter Cash | Fredrik Larzon | John Lightman | Rikki Rockett This page is based on the copyrighted Wikipedia article Move It On Over; it is used under the GNU Free Documentation License.
