| Patra is the stage name taken by Dorothy Smith, a dance music and reggae singer born on January 22 1972 in Kingston, Jamaica. She first made an impression on the US charts as a featured singer on Shabba Ranks's song Family Affair, which hit #84 on the Hot 100 in 1994. Her fist solo outing, Worker Man, climbed to #53 later that year and hit #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. She has also collaborated with rapper Yo-Yo and R&B musician Aaron Hall.
