Peter Breiner (b. 1957 in Humenné, Slovakia) is one of the most successful living Slovak musicians as well as one of the world's most recorded ones (over 1.2 million CDs sold on Naxos/Marco Polo labels only). He composes, conducts and performs as a pianist.

Biography

He began to play the piano at the age of four.
At the age of nine he began formal training at the Conservatory in Košice, Slovakia, studying piano, percussion, composition and conducting.
Later he moved to Bratislava, Slovakia where he attended the Academy of Performing Arts continuing his composition studies under the tuition of Alexander Moyzes
.
He graduated in 1982.
Since March 1992, Peter has lived in Toronto, Canada.
He has performed as conductor and pianist in hundreds of concerts and recordings (over 100 CDs).
He is probably best known for his clever arrangements, including award-winning Baroque versions of the Beatles and a similar adaptation of Elvis Presley and of popular Christmas music.
Active also as a journalist, he hosted various TV/radio programs.
In early 2000 his own talk show in STV was banned , being criticized as not politically correct, although supported by most of his fellow journalists.
