Peter George Wellesley Graves, 8th Baron Graves was born on the 21st of October 1911 in London. He was the first son of Claude Thomas and Georgina. He was educated at Harrow and married 28 May 1960 Winifred Ruby Moule (Vanessa Lee). He died childless on June 6, 1994 in France of a heart attack. His kinsman Evelyn Paget Graves succeeded him.

Lord Graves worked as an actor, generally playing royalty and aristocrats. His career peaked in the mid to late 1940s, when he played a number of leading roles.
