Peter Lindgren (March 6,1973) is a guitarist for the Swedish progressive death metal band Opeth. He joined the band in 1991 and immediately became Mikael Åkerfeldt's writing partner for future albums. He originally joined the band playing bass for a gig, but stayed on and switched to guitar later. Lindgren shares lead guitar duties with Mikael Åkerfeldt. Åkerfeldt's solos are fast, jazzy and blues-based, as can be heard on "Harvest" (Blackwater Park) and "The Grand Conjuration" (Ghost Reveries). Lindgren's solos are melodic, technical and tasteful, as can be heard on the songs "Deliverance" (Deliverance) and "Beneath the Mire" (Ghost Reveries).

Lindgren uses Laney brand amplifiers, and for guitars he uses Paul Reed Smith and Gibsons. He's married to his longtime girlfriend Jessica and has 2 cats.
