| Philip Cashian (born 1963 in Manchester) is a British composer. His teachers included Simon Bainbridge, Lukas Foss and Oliver Knussen. He has won various awards, including the Britten Prize and the PRS Prize. Recent commissions have included a Chamber Concerto (1995), Night Journeys for timpani and percussion (1998), Black Venus for solo guitar (1999), Tableaux for orchestra (2003) and Apollo for ensemble (2005).
